Mirror to the Heart

The One Year® Chronological Bible, NKJV (Tyndale, 2013), June 1

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe" (Prov. 18:10). The unrighteous, however, run everywhere else for security (sex, sleep, laziness, food, gossip, lying, bribery, bank account, possessions, etc.).

The book of Proverbs is like a mirror. It reveals the attitudes and actions of two types of people: those who fear God and live accordingly, and those who rebel against God and go their own way. Each chapter and verse highlights and contrasts the attitude and behavior of the wise (God-centered people) with the attitude and behavior of the foolish (self-centered people).

Who's in your mirror?

Questions from today's reading (Proverbs 17:1-19:29):

What do the Questions from today's chronological Bible reading teach regarding possessions of the heart and hand?

What do the proverbs teach regarding interpersonal relationships?
